Ok.. I know I have been a long time away... well I haven't really been away, just busy, working , working and working some more.
A while back I blogged (well complained - no whined) about how cold the ice rinks are here, particularly the new ones.
Well... let me tell you... since this cold snap...heh.. cold was an understatement. 10 - 13 hours a day in one of these ice boxes causes insanity.
So in my insane wisdom, I waddle into the barn looking like the short version of the michelan man but in black.. sigh.. here goes.
On the top: I have now reverted to wearing winter running bra, undershirt, turtle neck, wool sweater, polar fleece jacket, then my coaching jacket, a pashmina, on top of it all... my fridgidair coat my dad got from the meat packing plant back in the dinosaur ages. On my head of course is my fur hat.
On the bottom: Long underwear, track pants, lined columbia pants and on my feet... sheep skin skate covers (they are so bulky, I do more tripping over them than standing). They make my feet looking like they belong to the saskwatch that live behind my house.
Thats right, I said standing, you see with all the clothing on.. I cannot skate. H E double hockey sticks, I even had to put the seat back in the van just to fit in behind the wheel to drive. Trying to drink my timmies at 6 am has proven to be difficult as well... can't bend my elbows... sigh...
Last night being test day and moi having to partner started taking off the layers so the poor young man could hold on to me during his dance test and by god... I was instantly frozen... ugh...
The young man (age 10) says to me.... ummmm....your are really skinny when you take your clothes off ... UGH!!!!!!!! ok... he made it sound like I was nude... YIKES!!!!!!
So this morning being a short day for me (2 hours in the rink) and such a beautiful sunny day... I get this brain wave... lets go for a hot tub. It is -20 out and I get the urge to hot tub it. So, after the coffee was made (baileys added) my fuzzy faux fur hat on, sun glasses, house coat. Out I venture. It was wonderful, however, my nose (I think) is frost bitten .... whaaaaaa. I am sure I was a sight to see. I just thank the lord no camera's were near by as I am sure brat 1 and 2 would love a photo of the fuzz head sitting in the tub freezing her nose off drinking coffee and baileys... hehehehe....
I am, however, warmed up and ready for an afternoon nap....
So, on that note....see you in my dreams...
Ciao for now!
